Our English lessons this term will be based around 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' by C.S. Lewis. We are looking at describing characters and the setting using imagery - personification and similes. We are focusing on various ways of structuring sentences which include subordinate clauses and expanded noun phrases.
In maths, we have been focusing on fractions. We have been adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators. This is tricky - knowing your times tables will be a huge help towards success 😁
Visit the links below for online games which will be useful practice.
In our Creative curriculum, we will be learning about the Polar Regions. We will be carrying out research about Antarctica and the Arctic and will write a non-fiction report with our information. We will be planning a journey to Svalbard and will write letters back to school to inform of our new life.
As the weather is cold, please remember your outdoor PE kit
Here are some useful links for over the holiday...
This term our creative curriculum topic is
'The Wonderful World of Roald Dahl'
Our learning this term will be themed around the World Famous children's Author - Roald Dahl. This links in really well with 'Roald Dahl 100' - a celebration which marks 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl. As a class we will be reading 'BOY' which is full of fascinating facts - all about the famous storyteller's life. We are currently surrounding ourselves with the works of Roald Dahl as we study a number of stories in our English lessons; in guided reading; and even our reading at home!
