Pleasure Beach Trip

Pleasure Beach Trip 1 Looking at the site of the new ride

Wasn't our trip fantastic? You made me so proud with your wonderful behaviour and your thoughtful questions. It was an absolute pleasure to take you out for the day and you were the most wonderful ambassadors for our school.

We learned so much about the history of the Pleasure Beach and had a great time making our fantastic carousels. We are currently writing instructions on how to make them, which are looking really good.

Welcome back frown

Welcome back to another exciting term.

We will hopefully be continuing our outdoor PE sessions (depending on the weather) so make sure you have warm clothing and trainers to wear on a Friday, as it still might be chilly. Lessons will be on Friday afternoon with Mr Fogg.

Swimming will continue on Tuesday mornings.

We will be doing lots of science this term with some experimenting outside now that the weather is a bit better. This will be lots of fun.

Please make sure you are practising your spellings regularly and remember to put your name on the board in the morning as soon as you are ready for your test.

Keep up the home reading too. It's so lovely to see so many of you really enjoying your books.

We have more and more people able to answer 80 times tables questions in 3 minutes. Let's see how many more people can do it by the end of term.

This term we will be studying "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" by  J.K. Rowling and all of our English work will be based around this. We will do lots of work on characters and settings within stories. We will be practising different ways to open sentences, why authors use personification and bringing writing to life with similes.

We will also write a non-fiction about dragons and some instructions linked to our trip.

We will be spending a lot of time working on fractions this term. It will be so much easier for you if you know your tables so keep learning them.

This term, we will mostly be working on science topics and doing lots of experiments.

One of the most exciting events of the year happens this term - our trip to the Pleasure Beach as part of our science topic on Forces. You will go on a trip round the park and then make a carousel as well as learning loads about the history of the Pleasure Beach. It's absolutely brilliant and I'm sure you will all love it.
