Year 4 Abbeystead Trip

Year 4 Visit to Abbeystead

Our Year 4 trip to Abbeystead was a fantastic experience that brought our geography and science learning to life. We visited the source of the River Wyre and explored how it compares to the river’s mouth, which we had studied on a previous trip. Along the way, we identified key features of a river and discussed how the landscape changes from source to mouth. We also investigated different habitats and enjoyed discovering the wildlife and natural beauty of the area. One of the most memorable moments of the day was thinking about the quote, “Take nothing but pictures; leave nothing but footprints,” which helped us understand why it’s so important to protect and respect the countryside.
