PALs & Buddy's
At Norbreck, we believe children should be given opportunities to develop their leadership skills.
In Year 6, children can apply to become a Buddy to help the Reception children. Buddy's assist the Welfare Assistants at lunchtimes, supporting play and games on the playground and activities such as reading and phonic games in the classroom. The children forge wonderful relationships and this really demonstrates our family values.

Playground Activity Leaders or PALs as we call them, are appointed every year and help Play Leaders at lunchtime to organise and deliver a wide range of activities for children. This is one of their first tastes in developing their Leadership skills.
My daughter is very shy but this term, I have heard lots about a Buddy called Harry and how he has spent a lot of time encouraging her to join in and build her confidence by getting her involved and understanding that she is quite a quiet child. I just wanted to let you know that I think this is a wonderful scheme the school adopts and to pass on my praise and thanks to Harry and his teacher so that they know how appreciated his manner and attitude is and what a difference it is making to someone; he deserves to be congratulated for that.
