Welcome to our class page! We hope you will find all the information you need. Don't forget to use Seesaw for regular updates.
Topics in Year 3
Term 1- The Rocking Stone Age
Term 2- Artist Study- Lowry
Term 3- The UK
Term 4- Ancient Egypt
Term 5- Local History Study (Transport)
Term 6- Volcanoes
Each morning we will have an English and a Maths lesson, a Guided Reading session and sometimes a current affairs discussion.
Each week in English, we will learn a new spelling pattern which can be accessed on Seesaw.
At the end of each term the children will be tested.
The areas taught in Maths can be found in the Curriculum Overview as can all other Foundation subjects.
Guided Reading sessions involve reading and responding to a text and answering comprehension questions under the guidance of the class teacher.
Each morning the class may have a milk and a piece of fruit.
PE days will change each term but for Term 1 our PE is on a Friday (starting on Friday 11th September).
Homework will be given out each Thursday; this is to be returned the following Tuesday. The focus for homework will be a combination of Maths, English or Topic work.
Reading books and reading diaries need to be in school every day. The children will change their books as and when needed- after they have quizzed using Accelerated Reader.
