Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Every November to tie in with Anti-Bullying Week, we invite children from Year Three to Six to apply to become an Anti-Bullying Ambassador (ABA) for their year group.

The previous Anti-Bullying Ambassadors alongside Mrs. Cadwallader, read all applications and go through the shortlisting process to decide the next year's ABA for school.

Two of our school values- being kind and respectful, were chosen by our school councillors to demonstrate what it means to be a Norbrecker.

Core Value- Kind

Core Value- Respect

Anti- Bullying Week November 2024

"In Year 5 explored the theme of respect by creating our own definition of what it means and what respect looks like in our school. Then, we looked at conflict resolution and the children role-played how to deal with conflict in a disrespectful and a respectful way. They modelled the importance of staying calm, listening, using kind language, trying to understand the other person's point of view and trying to compromise and find a solution together. Finally, everyone created a pledge showing how they will choose respect. We also had our Life Education visit on Tuesday afternoon and shared acts of kindness on kindness day."

"Year 6 listened to the lyrics from the song 'Hopeful' (performed on Britain's Got Talent) which was written by a thirteen-year-old boy as a way of dealing with bullying. We spoke about the lyrics and what we could do to help him if he was a pupil at our school. The children thought of many great ways to show support and give advice to someone going through something similar."
